Hi Don:

My name is Jessica and I’m working with Friendly's on an exciting competition that I thought you might be interested in. It’s an opportunity for aspiring filmmakers, musicians, and other creative types to show their stuff -- and win prizes in the process. I’m hoping you might be able to help us raise some awareness.

Basically, from now through August 12th, anyone over the age of 13 can send in a video or image they think best represents their passion for Friendly’s. Do you have a favorite ice cream flavor, a preferred meal or your own unique take on the brand? Or maybe it’s the memories that you have created with friends and family at Friendly’s that makes it special? Most people I've talked with about the contest this week haven't been to Friendly's recently, in some cases not since they were a small child. But every single one has some fond memory or idea for what to scream about. Don't you?

Entries can be a simple snapshot or a feature length video. You can enter by submitting a video or photo to www.iscreamfriendlys.com or via your mobile phone. Prizes include an Apple TV and Canon digital camera, a Video iPod and Bose SoundDock system, and more. The competition is steep, but for good reason, because in addition to weekly winners, the grand prize winners get $10,000 Apple shopping sprees.

We've been getting some good responses that show creativity and talent with computers, cameras and video recorders. For example:

- In one of my favorite videos, a girl is deciding between a container of Friendly’s ice cream and a container from another brand. After pondering the two containers, she chooses Friendly’s and sticks her face in the container, getting ice cream all over her face.

- In one photo there is a young boy flying through the air in middle of a skate-board trick. Next to him in the air is his tag line: “I Fly for Friendly’s.”

- Another photo displays a skinny man dressed in retro-rock clothing placing his hands on his face and screaming into a microphone that is almost as large is he is. Emitting from the microphone are his screams for Friendly’s.

I hope you consider entering yourself. Or, if you can help by sharing some of the information about the contest with your blog readers, that would be great. I would be happy to answer any questions your have, provide some funny videos that you can show off on your site -- whatever would help.

Please feel free to contact me at jhoeler@coneinc.com to discuss further. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Best,
Jess
